Labyrinth House LLC respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects its scholars and guides to do the same. We respond to clear notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA"), 17 U.S.C. § 512, and applicable laws in other jurisdictions.

This page tells you how to report content on Labyrinth House that you believe infringes your copyright, and how to file a counter-notice if your content was removed in error.

How to Submit a Takedown Notice

To be effective under the DMCA, your written notice must include all of the following:

A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf.
Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed (e.g., title, ISBN, registration number, or a representative list of works if multiple).
Identification of the material that you claim is infringing and that you want removed, with enough detail for us to locate it — including the exact URL on Labyrinth House (e.g., the book page, course page, or post link).
Your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
The following statement, included verbatim: "I have a good faith belief that the use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law."
The following statement, included verbatim, under penalty of perjury: "The information in this notification is accurate, and I am the copyright owner or am authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed."

Once received, we will review your notice and, if it is valid and complete, remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material and notify the user who posted it. We may also forward a copy of your notice (including your contact information) to the affected user.

Counter-Notice

If you believe content of yours was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice to our designated agent. It must include:

Your physical or electronic signature.
Identification of the material that was removed and the location at which it appeared before removal.
The following statement, under penalty of perjury: "I have a good faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification of the material to be removed or disabled."
Your name, mailing address, telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the U.S. District Court for the district in which you reside (or, if outside the U.S., the District of Hawaii), and that you will accept service of process from the person who submitted the original DMCA notice or their agent.

If we receive a valid counter-notice, we may restore the removed material in 10 to 14 business days unless the original complainant files a court action seeking a restraining order against the user.

Repeat Infringer Policy

Labyrinth House LLC will, in appropriate circumstances and at its sole discretion, suspend or terminate the accounts of users who are deemed to be repeat infringers. We also reserve the right to remove content and terminate accounts of users who infringe any intellectual property rights of others, whether or not there is any repeat infringement.

Misrepresentations

Please be aware that, under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material or activity is infringing — or that material was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification — may be subject to liability for damages, including costs and attorneys' fees. Do not make false claims.
